Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Dayton, NJ is seeking a Machine Operator for the 3rd shift (10pm–6am). The role covers setup, operation, quality checks, and safe workflow within the flexographic printing process. Strong attention to detail and adherence to LEAN principles will be essential.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience, with color vision testing and basic math skills. Overtime may be required; a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
• Basic arithmetic and reading skills required.
• Proficient use of hand tools required.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, maintain and operate a flexographic press.
• Perform make-ready with rollers, plates, inks, dies; ensure print quality.
• Keep area clean and safe; notify repairs as needed.
• Deliver finished material to correct areas; support printing processes.
• Assist with training and adhere to LEAN principles.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
