Job summary

NSI Industries seeks a Heavy Machine Operator for its Stratford, CT location on 2nd shift (3:45 PM – 11:45 PM). The role focuses on safe, efficient operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment to meet production targets in a manufacturing setting.

The candidate will operate die cast machinery, follow safety protocols, inspect parts, and collaborate with mechanics and foreperson while staying compliant with company policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to operate machines.
• On the job training.
• Must be able to understand all essential functions. In approximately one month, candidate should have a good understanding of the job.

Responsibilities

• Operates Die Cast Machine.
• Separates parts from scrap through use of a trim die or hand break.
• Check and inspect parts by using a gauge or visual and sign off on it at fixed intervals.
• Check machine, if it stops and notify Mechanic or Foreperson of any issues.
• Maintain housekeeping in your work area.
• Cover a machine for another employee when on break.
• Be safety conscious and wear all PPE required.
• May be asked to work in another department temporarily if needed
• Follow Supervisor’s and Foreperson’s instructions. Communicate with other employees.
