Job summary

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. in New Mexico is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff during dialysis treatments and to deliver safe, high-quality care.

The PCT will participate in infection control, monitor patients, record vital signs and machine readings, and assist with setup and monitoring under RN supervision. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• CNA/EMT/medical assistant skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities.
• Guide new patients through 120-day education plan.
• Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment.
• Role under RN supervision.
• Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment.
• Insert and remove patient access needles.
• Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns.
• Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight.
• Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly.
• Maintain professional relationships and patient privacy.
