Job summary

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the dialysis team in a nonprofit setting. You will participate in infection control, monitor vitals, and assist with access needles under RN supervision in a 4:30am start shift with Sundays off.

The role includes a 12-hour shift pattern, a paid 12-week training program, and competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO, and a retirement plan with employer matching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT and/or phlebotomy skills desired.
• DCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills training.

Responsibilities

• Infection control, risk management and patient education activities.
• Guide new patients through 120-day education plan.
• Record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment.
• Role under RN supervision.
• Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment.
• Insert and remove patient access needles.
• Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns.
• Calculate patient’s weight loss to reach dry weight.
• Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly.
• Maintain patient privacy and rights.
• Maintain and track inventory.
• Perform laboratory work.
