Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Grain Valley, MO seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) as CAP 1. You will coordinate care, assess patients, plan and evaluate treatment, and collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians in an ESRD setting.

You will participate in ongoing staff education, quality improvement activities, and ensure proper lab procedures while supporting patient education and transplant/treatment discussions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure.
• CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre - during - post hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient record; adjust care plan as needed.
• Assesses and documents patient/family learning needs to provide education to patients and family.
• Directs and provides safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms; documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
