Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care (Schweiz) AG seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for an assigned patient group within the Clinical Advancement Program.

Under supervision, you will collect patient data, educate patients and families, administer medications, and participate in emergency response and team leadership as needed. CAP requirements support career advancement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or other RNs.
• Assesses and documents patient data and education needs for ongoing care.
• Delivers safe, effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for the healthcare team and participates in staff training.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and handling procedures.
• Identifies outcomes and updates nursing assessments and plans of care with the team.
• Ensures patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
