Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a professional Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 2 role. This entry-level CAP2 position supports the Clinical Advancement Program for new staff meeting CAP 2 criteria and provides coordinated, clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis.

The RN CAP 2 participates in education, quality improvement, and collaboration with the care team, while mentoring new staff and supporting facility operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor or RN colleagues.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis; documents in medical record; adjusts plan as needed.
• Provides patient and family education on care and plan of treatment.
• Directs daily delivery of safe hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms; documents effectiveness.

Education
