Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in Washington, DC, seeks an experienced Dialysis Nurse Manager to lead our outpatient dialysis operations. You will supervise nursing and technical staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive patient safety and quality outcomes.

The role requires a DC RN license, a BSN, and 1 year of clinical nursing with 6 months in maintenance dialysis. BLS is required; ACLS preferred. CN/CDN certification is a plus. This is a full-time management position within UHS.

Qualifications

• DC RN License required.
• BSN required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• 12 months of clinical nursing experience with 6 months in maintenance dialysis.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• CDN or CNN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the dialysis program, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient needs and treatment volumes.
• Leads, coaches, and evaluates dialysis nursing and technical staff to support clinical excellence and professional development.
• Ensures compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage, state regulations, and infection control guidelines.
• Monitors quality metrics and drives performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care plans.
• Oversees inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply management.
• Manages department budget, productivity, and cost control measures.
• Supports recruitment, retention, and staff engagement strategies.
• Promotes evidence-based practices, patient safety standards, and infection prevention protocols.
• Addresses patient, family, and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensures staff competency, ongoing education, and required certifications are maintained.
