Job summary

Fresenius Kidney Care in the United States is seeking an entry-level RN for the Outpatient CAP1 program. This role delivers and coordinates clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned patient group.

The nurse collaborates with the health care team, educates patients and families, and may delegate tasks to care staff. CAP requirements must be completed to advance within the program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state RN licensure.
• Current or successful CPR/BLS certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor or RN team.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and updates the care plan.
• Educates patients and families on basic learning needs.
• Provides safe and effective hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and documents justification/effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource and participates in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and handling.
• Updates nursing assessment and care plan in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Discusses transplant and treatment modality options with patients.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
