Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures for diagnostic purposes. The role includes patient assessment, order validation, patient preparation, and maintaining privacy and safety standards during exams.

Timely RIS documentation and strict radiation safety practices are required. ARRT registration or registry eligibility is needed, with timely certification after hire.

Qualifications

• College graduate from an accredited program in radiologic sciences (required).
• ARRT registration or registry eligible; must be registered within 12 months if eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures for diagnosis.
• Assess the patient and review orders or charts as appropriate.
• Prepare patient for procedure and address questions or refer to radiologist as needed.
• Minimize discomfort and protect privacy during exams.
• Record exam times in RIS for timely radiologist access.
• Maintain radiation safety, infection control, shielding, and dosimeter usage.
• QA: correct ordering, image annotation, laterality, and presentation state.
• Submit work orders when equipment is down.
• Other duties as assigned.
