Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the supervision of a radiologist in both outpatient and inpatient settings. You will compile patient history and imaging data and provide preliminary findings to the Radiologist for review.

Responsibilities include selecting appropriate equipment, ensuring proper setup, maintaining equipment calibration, and delivering professional communication with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ARDMS abdominal/OB-Gyn or cardiac certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• RVT certification within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Gather relevant information from patient, chart, and care team.
• Select equipment and set-up per procedure protocol.
• Prepare and set up ultrasound equipment and transducers.
• Ensure equipment calibration per protocol and manufacturer guidelines.
• Communicate preliminary findings to radiologist.
