The role involves collecting patient data, obtaining consent, selecting imaging parameters, and transmitting images to the PACS for interpretation by a radiologist. The candidate will maintain equipment, participate in downtime procedures, and collaborate with hospital departments to ensure timely procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEOP accredited Medical Ultrasound Program.
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, independent and critical thinking, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability in nursing.
• Strong ability to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collects pertinent data about the patient and procedure.
• Provides information to the patient about the procedure and ensures consent.
• Analyzes information to determine optimal imaging parameters and prepares patient.
• Sends images to PACS for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains equipment and workstation; performs daily QC.
• Coordinates downtime procedures and rescheduling during downtime.
• Attends department meetings and supports other duties as assigned.
