Ochsner Health System is seeking an experienced ultrasound technologist to independently perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures in collaboration with staff radiologists. The role includes serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students and ensuring imaging quality and safety across procedures.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, explaining procedures, operating equipment, and coordinating with radiology information systems.

Qualificações

• Completion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography.
• RDMS certification or registry eligible within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
• Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty according to facility need.

Responsabilidades

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates ultrasound equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission.
• Performs timely quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
• Assists in department operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to patient population and privacy considerations.
