Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Clovis, NM seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams in accordance with policy and safety standards. You will review orders, prepare equipment, and ensure patient comfort while capturing high-quality images for interpretation.

The role requires NM licensure, ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certification, BLS, and an Associates degree. You will join a team focused on patient care, safety and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related health science or graduate of an accredited program preferred in related field.
• New Mexico Sonography License required.
• Sonographer certification by ARDMS/ARRT/CCI required.
• Current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations following infection control, safety and patient care policies.
• Review patient history and ensure medical necessity of the examination.
• Verify order completeness and identify contraindications or patient intolerance.
• Communicate with patients clearly and position them safely for accurate imaging.
• Perform and document diagnostic ultrasound examinations as directed by supervising providers.
• Apply professional judgement to obtain clinically useful images and document findings.
• Refer non-imaging questions to the appropriate provider as needed.
• Acquire additional imaging when necessary to optimize diagnostic results.
• Identify limitations in the examination and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Review images, synthesize results and document preliminary findings.
• Assist with daily department operations and quality assurance activities.
• Adhere to professional standards and facility policies; perform other duties as assigned.
