Summary

Provides diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under the direction of a Physician while maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follows radiation safety guidelines while performing imaging. Delivers high-quality patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction. Performs radiologic exams with designated OR equipment of specified anatomy to physician specifications within the operating room. Adheres to safety precautions and sterile techniques. Supports cross-campus coverage, technologist rotation, and on-call duties as required.

Job Duties

1. Safely moves imaging equipment in the OR setting, including portables, hybrid rooms, C-Arms, and O-Arms, and adjusts image quality.
2. Ensures prompt submission of images and documentation before sending to PACS.
3. Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, lead shielding, and maintains proper distance during procedures.
4. Documents LMP, fluoro time, mGy, and room time; ensures correct exams are ordered and attached to the right patient within 30 minutes post-procedure.
5. Performs radiologic images per department standards or surgeon requests, with correct labeling.
6. Prepares injectors, provides contrast, and verifies injector settings under surgeon supervision.
7. Coordinates daily duties within the team, managing exam timing within departmental guidelines.
8. Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth department operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma from an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve various problems.
• Effective communication skills for building reports and conveying information.
• Knowledge of medical technology and terminology.
• Skill in analyzing complex data.
• Knowledge of anatomy.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) within 180 days.
• RT – Registered Technologist in Radiology (Pennsylvania) upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Science or related field.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40–50 lbs., including pushing/pulling patients on beds or stretchers, lateral transfers, and patient transport. Frequent standing/walking, potentially covering 8–10 miles per shift. May require kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
