Summary

Provides diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under the supervision of a Physician, maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follows safety guidelines while imaging gently. Delivers high-quality patient care and customer service to promote satisfaction. Performs radiologic exams with designated OR equipment of specified anatomy according to physician instructions. Adheres to safety precautions and sterile techniques. Includes cross-campus coverage, technologist rotation, and on-call duties as required.

Job Duties

• Safely moves imaging equipment in the OR setting, turns equipment on, and adjusts image quality. Includes portables, hybrid rooms, C-Arms, and O-Arms.
• Ensures prompt submission of images and documentation before PACS transfer.
• Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, lead shielding, and maintains proper distance.
• Documents LMP, fluoro time, mGy, and room time. Ensures correct exam ordering and attachment to the right patient within 30 minutes post-procedure.
• Performs radiologic images per department standards or surgeon requests, ensuring correct labeling of anatomy.
• Prepares injectors, provides contrast, and verifies settings under surgeon supervision.
• Coordinates daily duties within the team, scheduling exams within department guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth department operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve problems.
• Effective communication skills for comprehensive reporting.
• Knowledge of medical technology and terminology.
• Ability to analyze complex data.
• Knowledge of anatomy.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (within 180 days).
• Registered Technologist in Radiology (RT) upon hire in Pennsylvania.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Science or related field.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs., push/pull patients or equipment, stand/walk frequently, and perform activities like kneeling, bending, or CPR as needed.
