Job Summary

Provides diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under a Physician's direction while maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follows radiation safety guidelines while imaging gently. Delivers high-quality patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction. Performs radiologic exams with designated OR equipment of specified anatomy to physician specifications within the operating room. Adheres to safety precautions and sterile techniques. Includes cross-campus coverage, technologist rotation, and on-call duties as required by the department.

Job Duties

• Safely moves imaging equipment in the OR setting. Turns on equipment and adjusts image quality for exams, including portables, hybrid rooms, C-Arms, and O-arms.
• Ensures prompt submission of images and documentation before sending to PACS.
• Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, lead shielding, and proper distance.
• Documents LMP, fluoro time, mGy, and room time. Ensures exams are ordered and attached to the correct patient within 30 minutes after the procedure.
• Performs radiologic images according to department standards or surgeon requests, with correct labeling.
• Prepares injectors, provides contrast, and verifies settings under surgeon supervision.
• Coordinates daily work duties within the team; manages timing of exams within department guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure departmental operation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve problems.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and conveying information.
• Knowledge of medical technology and terminology.
• Skill in data collection and analysis.
• Knowledge of anatomy.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (within 180 days).
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology (upon hire) in Pennsylvania.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Science or related field.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs., including patient transport activities. Frequent standing and walking. May include kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
