Job Summary

Provides diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under the direction of a Physician while maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follows radiation safety guidelines and delivers high-quality patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Produces diagnostic-quality images, processes, and prepares images for interpretation by radiologists.
• Provides radiation protection according to safety standards, using appropriate exposure factors, collimation, and proper distancing; responsible for own safety and others'.
• Ensures correct exam is ordered, images are correctly attached to patient files, and documentation is complete.
• Monitors supplies and equipment to meet patient care requirements.
• Documents procedures accurately, including LMP, fluoro time, radiologist, number of images, patient history, and other required data.
• Coordinates daily work duties within the team and manages exam timing.
• Ensures images are transferred into PACS before completing the study.
• Verifies physician orders are complete, including signatures, study details, diagnosis, and CPT codes; obtains missing information as needed.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and requests repairs or adjustments.
• Assists in training and educating new employees, students, and ancillary staff.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma or completion of an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of radiologic program completion.
• Ability to handle confidential medical information ethically and effectively.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of safe and effective use of radiation equipment.
• Knowledge of medical technology and terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania).
• Registered Technologist in Radiology (RT) in Pennsylvania upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or graduation from a Health Science Program.

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs., push/pull up to 140 lbs., carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
