Position Summary

Provides diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under the direction of a Physician while maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follows guidelines for radiation safety while imaging gently. Delivers high-quality patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

1. Produces images of diagnostic quality, processes, and prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.
2. Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, and proper distance with documentation. Assumes responsibility for own safety and the safety of others.
3. Ensures appropriate exam is ordered, images are correctly attached to the patient file.
4. Monitors supplies and equipment to meet patient care requirements.
5. Documents procedures accurately, including LMP, fluoro time, radiologist, number of images, history, and other required information.
6. Coordinates daily work duties within the team and manages exam timing.
7. Ensures images are properly transferred into PACS before study completion.
8. Verifies physician orders are complete, including signature, study details, diagnosis, CPT codes, and obtains missing information.
9. Reports equipment malfunctions and requests repairs or adjustments.
10. Assists in training and educating new employees, students, and ancillary staff.
11. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, ensuring orderliness.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma or Graduate of an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of radiologic program completion.
• Ability to handle confidential medical information ethically.
• Problem-solving skills and effective communication.
• Understanding of radiation safety and medical technology.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• American Heart Association BLS certification - State of Pennsylvania.
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or graduate of a Health Science Program.

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs., push/pull up to 140 lbs., carry 80 lbs. over short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
