Summary

Supports the radiologist's functions and performs diagnostic imaging examinations crucial for detecting illnesses, injuries, and other conditions. Uses various imaging equipment to provide data and images for diagnosis and treatment. Performs radiology exams of designated anatomy, adhering to radiation safety protocols. Functions as part of the clinical care team, specializing in X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans.

Job Duties

• Adjusts, maintains, and sterilizes imaging equipment and testing rooms.
• Maintains detailed records of procedures, diagnoses, and medical notes.
• Performs clinical procedures after demonstrating competency, including vital signs and patient rooming.
• Produces high-quality images for interpretation.
• Communicates with radiologists and physicians regarding imaging needs.
• Explains procedures to patients, answering questions and ensuring comfort.
• Operates imaging equipment to capture necessary images.
• Provides radiation protection according to safety standards, using collimation, shielding, and proper distancing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma, graduate of AMA-accredited Radiology Technician program.
• At least 2 years of diagnostic radiology experience.
• Less than 1 year in a multi-disciplined radiology department.
• Ability to handle confidential medical information ethically.
• Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety protocols.
• American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire.
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology with ARRT upon hire.

Physical Demands

Lift/carry 7 lbs., sit >67%, keyboard/repetitive motion, fine motor activities, wrist positioning.
