Job Summary

Provides diagnostic quality radiologic imaging under the direction of a Physician while maintaining proper radiation protection standards. Follows guidelines for radiation safety and delivers high-quality patient care and customer service to promote patient satisfaction.

Job Duties

1. Produces images of diagnostic quality, processes, and prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.
2. Provides radiation protection in accordance with safety standards, using appropriate exposure factors, collimation, and proper distance, with documentation. Ensures safety for oneself and others.
3. Ensures correct exam is ordered and images are attached to the correct patient file.
4. Maintains appropriate supplies and equipment to meet patient care requirements.
5. Documents LMP, fluoro time, radiologist, number of images, relevant history, and other required information.
6. Coordinates daily work duties within the team and manages exam timing.
7. Ensures images are transferred into PACS before completing the study.
8. Verifies physician orders are complete, signed, and include necessary details; obtains missing information if needed.
9. Reports equipment malfunctions and requests adjustments or repairs.
10. Assists in education and training of new employees, students, and ancillary personnel.
11. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma or graduation from an accredited Radiography program or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of radiologic program completion.
• Ability to handle medical and confidential information ethically and effectively.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of safe use of radiation-producing equipment.
• Knowledge of medical technology and terminology.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification – State of Pennsylvania.
• RT – Registered Technologist in Radiology – State of Pennsylvania upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or graduate of a Health Science Program.

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs., push/pull up to 140 lbs., carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
