Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a valid West Virginia Medical Imaging License.
• Must hold current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credentials or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general ultrasound techniques, anatomy, and pathology.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to medical ethics.
• Completion of annual pelvic ultrasound probe disinfection training and CareLearning requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, breast, small parts, gynecological, musculoskeletal, and vascular studies.
• Obtain and review patient histories to correlate clinical information with findings.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ultrasound techniques and adhere to AIUM standards.
• Exercise independent judgment and address unusual clinical situations.
• Provide high-standard patient care, privacy, and safety throughout exams.
• Communicate preliminary findings to physicians promptly.
• Schedule patients and provide exam preparation instructions.
• Transcribe and file ultrasound reports in the system; maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Participate in QA and infection prevention; assist with workflow and add-ons.
