Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Fairmont seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform imaging procedures across diagnostic areas, maintain image quality, and ensure patient safety under ARRT guidelines.

The role requires rotating through Fluoro, Mobiles, OR, Endoscopy, and Orthopedics; valid state licensure and ARRT certification; Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire. Shifts include 36 hours per week with career ladder advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Must possess current Radiography License as required by state board where services will be provided (MD/OH/PA/WV).
• Must be nationally certified (ARRT) for the location.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Rotates in all Diagnostic areas (Fluoro, Mobiles, Routine, Operating Room, Endoscopy, Orthopedics).
• Performs image procedures based on patient status and imaging protocols.
• Produces images of optimal quality with proper exposure factors and minimal radiation.
• Maintains patient care and safety with shielding, collimation, and inverse square law principles.
• Educates patients regarding radiographic procedures and answers questions.
• Promotes team collaboration with technical, nursing, and medical staff.
• Reports equipment failures and completes required in-services and competencies.
