Job summary

LANDAUER seeks a Diagnostic Imaging Physicist to perform comprehensive medical physics surveys across radiographic, fluoroscopic, breast imaging, ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET/SPECT systems. You will support accreditation surveys and RAM licensing, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality imaging services.

Requires a Master’s in health physics/medical physics or equivalent, extensive imaging physics experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in health physics, physics, medical physics, biomedical engineering or any equivalent from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in Imaging Physics practice areas: Health Physics, Radiation Safety, Mammography, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine (gamma cameras & licensing), PET, Fluoroscopy surveys, Ultrasound.
• Ability to learn new technical procedures quickly and apply knowledge to unfamiliar topics for results.
• Ability to develop processes to improve team efficiency and speed.
• Use technical expertise with strong verbal and written communication to lead teammates or clients in equipment surveys and navigating regulatory changes.
• Extensive experience with computer systems and cloud-based tools for workflow and file storage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with clients daily.
• Eligible for registration in NC, SC and VA; RSO for medical radioactive materials license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical physics surveys of radiographic, fluoroscopic, breast imaging, ultrasound, CT, MRI, stereotactic breast biopsy and PET/SPECT/SPECT-CT systems.
• Support ACR Accreditation surveys.
• Perform nuclear medicine surveys including gamma cameras, PET, and RAM license support.
• Meet continuing education requirements for mammography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, PET and nuclear medicine.
• Complete reports on time with data analysis, observations and follow-up recommendations.
• Travel to NC/SC/VA locations; some overnight stays in region; air travel as needed.
