Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution required.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology required.
• Fellowship training in a pathology subspecialty is preferred but not required.
• Board certification or eligibility in AP/APCP by the American Board of Pathology is expected.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the applicable state.

Responsibilities

• Examine and interpret surgical pathology specimens and provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports.
• Evaluate cytology specimens and provide diagnostic consultation as appropriate.
• Perform gross and microscopic examinations of tissue specimens.
• Utilize ancillary testing (immunohistochemistry, molecular diagnostics, special stains) to support diagnosis.
• Consult with physicians regarding pathology findings and patient management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain accurate medical records and pathology documentation.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and laboratory performance metrics.
• Participate in on-call coverage and departmental service responsibilities.
