Job summary

Emory Physician Group Practices seeks an Anatomic Pathologist to provide diagnostic pathology services, including surgical pathology, cytology, and autopsy interpretation. The role collaborates with clinicians and participates in conferences, teaching, and research as needed.

The incumbent will perform gross and microscopic examinations, use ancillary testing such as immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostics, and contribute to quality improvement and laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited AP or AP/CP residency program.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the applicable state.

Responsibilities

• Examine and interpret surgical pathology specimens with accurate reports.
• Evaluate cytology specimens and provide diagnostic consultations as needed.
• Perform gross and microscopic examinations of tissue specimens.
• Utilize ancillary testing (IHC, molecular diagnostics, special stains) to support diagnosis.
• Consult with clinicians regarding pathology findings and patient management.
• Participate in tumor boards, conferences, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain complete medical records and pathology documentation.
• Engage in on-call coverage and departmental service responsibilities.
