Job summary

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the applicable state.

Responsibilities

• Examine and interpret surgical pathology specimens and provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports.
• Evaluate cytology specimens and provide diagnostic consultation as appropriate.
• Perform and interpret gross and microscopic examinations of tissue specimens.
• Utilize ancillary testing including immunohistochemistry, molecular diagnostics, and special stains to support diagnosis.
• Consult with physicians regarding pathology findings and patient management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical conferences.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and laboratory standards.
• Maintain medical records and pathology documentation.
• Contribute to quality improvement and lab performance metrics.
• Participate in on-call coverage and departmental service responsibilities.
• Support education and training of trainees and staff.
• Engage in scholarly, research, and academic activities.
