Job summary

Emory Physician Group Practices in East Point, GA, seeks an experienced Anatomic Pathologist to provide diagnostic pathology services through examination and interpretation of surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy specimens.

The position collaborates with clinicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals, participates in tumor boards and education, and contributes to quality improvement, research, and scholarly activities within an academic medical center setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Anatomic Pathology.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the applicable state.
• Commitment to continuing medical education.

Responsibilities

• Examine and interpret surgical pathology specimens and provide diagnostic reports.
• Evaluate cytology specimens and provide diagnostic consultation.
• Perform gross and microscopic examinations of tissue specimens.
• Utilize ancillary testing (immunohistochemistry, molecular diagnostics, and special stains) to support diagnosis.
• Consult with physicians regarding pathology findings and patient management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and laboratory standards.
• Maintain medical records and pathology documentation.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and laboratory performance metrics.
• Participate in on-call coverage and departmental service responsibilities.
• Support education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, laboratory staff, and others.
• Engage in scholarly, research, and academic activities as appropriate.
