Job summary

Meta Reality Labs is seeking a DFX Engineering Intern in Seattle for a 12‑week program. You will own a scoped manufacturing engineering project with mentorship, gaining hands‑on exposure to moving designs from concept to production alongside hardware, quality, test, and external manufacturers.

The role emphasizes developing processes, tolerancing analysis, data interpretation, and presenting findings to cross‑functional partners at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or awarded BS/MS in Mechanical, Electro‑Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Coursework or project experience in manufacturing processes, design for manufacturing, or mechanical design.
• Exposure to GD&T and tolerance analysis fundamentals.
• Experience with a 3D CAD tool (NX, Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing manufacturing assembly processes, fixtures, and equipment requirements.
• Contribute to fixture and line qualification activities.
• Perform tolerance analysis and GD&T based studies on assemblies and part‑level drawings under mentor.
• Collect and analyze process data (yield, cycle time, failure modes) and contribute to failure analysis reports.
• Investigate new or improved manufacturing processes to enhance quality or production efficiency.
• Present project findings and recommendations to the DFX team and cross‑functional partners at internship end.
