Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a DFx Engineer, Mechanical & Fluid Systems, to optimize manufacturability, assembly, and cost across mechanical, structural, thermal, and fluid subsystems. You will work with SMEs and design engineers, learning to translate constraints into actionable recommendations and support supplier qualification.

This cross‑functional role engages supply chain, quality, and operations, with hands‑on floor exposure and travel to supplier sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing/process engineering or related role with exposure to mechanical, thermal, or fluid systems.
• Ability to read drawings, interpret GD&T, and review 3D models for producibility.
• Familiarity with aerospace mechanical standards or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support DFx analysis across mechanical, structural, thermal, and fluid systems with focus on manufacturability, assembly, and cost.
• Participate in DFM/DFA/DFC reviews and apply scoring to identify producibility and cost risks.
• Perform DFMEAs with cross-functional teams and drive design changes from outputs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers to provide manufacturing and cost feedback.
• Assist in evaluating contract manufacturers through facility reviews and capability assessments.
• Develop and maintain DFx standards, templates, and cost models.
• Travel to production sites and supplier facilities (~20%).
