Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a DFx Engineer for AD&S Manufacturing Engineering. You will drive design-for-manufacturability, assembly, and cost analyses across avionics, electronics, wiring, and harnessing, collaborating with design, supply chain, and quality teams.

You will evaluate contract manufacturers, build should-cost models, and contribute to DFx standards while traveling to supplier sites to gain hands-on experience.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or a related role.
• Foundational knowledge of electronics and/or harnessing manufacturing processes (SMT, soldering, conformal coating).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and harness drawings for producibility.
• Interest in understanding manufacturing cost drivers and how design affects unit cost.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-620).

Responsabilidades

• Support DFx analysis across avionics, electronics, wiring, and harnessing subsystems focusing on manufacturability, assembly, and cost.
• Participate in DFM/DFA/DFC reviews at key milestones and apply scoring to identify risks.
• Provide manufacturing and cost feedback to designs with actionable recommendations.
• Assist in evaluating contract manufacturers through facility reviews and audits.
• Build and maintain should-cost models and cost-driver analyses for electronics and harnessing.
• Develop DFx standards, guidelines, and scorecards for electronics manufacturing processes.
• Analyze designs for manufacturability, cost structure, and technology maturity to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with supply chain to connect DFx to sourcing strategy.
• Work with quality to translate DFx findings into inspections and supplier quality requirements.
• Spend time on production floor and supplier sites to understand manufacturing.
• Contribute to the DFx toolkit (templates, rubrics, data).
• Travel to production sites and supplier facilities (~20%).
