Job summary

Milestone Electric, Air & Plumbing is hiring a skilled Service Technician with residential HVAC experience to diagnose, repair, and maintain home systems. You will travel to customer sites, communicate clearly, and work with dispatch to keep schedules on track.

The role requires EPA certification and State Registered TDLR, a valid driver’s license, and ability to lift heavy items. Compensation includes strong earnings potential and benefits, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Three years of HVAC residential service experience is required.
• EPA certification and State Registered TDLR are required.
• Excellent organization, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Strong multi-tasking and the ability to read plans/manuals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and using IOS devices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of HVAC systems.
• Travel to job sites in the service area and coordinate with dispatch.
• Work nights and weekends on a rotating basis for emergencies.
• Maintain company vehicle, report issues, and complete inspection forms.
• Educate homeowners on service opportunities and upsell where appropriate.
• Maintain stock, tools, and safety equipment; participate in training.

Job description

(MUST HAVE RESIDENTIAL HVAC EXPERIENCE- THIS IS NOT AN APPRENTICE POSITON)

Operate, maintain, and repair all equipment used for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning for residence equipment. This individual supports the business by traveling to customers and helping create solutions for their homes. You will partner with the business to diagnose issues and repairs. In addition to supporting Milestone efforts to ensure we are effectively communicating with our customers.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
• Travel to job sites in the service area and work with dispatch to ensure the schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to the customer.
• Be available to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis to service emergency needs of our customers.
• Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting vehicle inspection form.
• EXTREME customer service skills, Ability to interact with homeowners, collect money and relay information clearly.
• Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment on the vehicle.
• Educate homeowner on potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services)
• Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential customers. Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
• Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed in this description.
• May perform other job duties as directed by team member’s leaders.
• Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.
• Active (Valid) Driver’s License. (3 yrs of clean driving history) required.
• Candidates must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.

• A current EPA certification and State Registered TDLR (required).

Physical And Mental Requirements

• Must be able to lift and move items of 75 pounds and/or more on regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
• Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a frequent basis for extended periods
• Must be able to work in cramped or high places such as attics, ladders and tunnels
• Must be able to carry heavy items up and down stairs
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, rain, snow or sleet
• Must have mental skills such as critical thinking , problem solving, and a technical vocabulary to understand direction and adhere to established procedures.
• Must be willing to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as customer service complaints.
