Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team in Michigan. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of residential HVAC service experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to high-quality customer service.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems, work with homeowners to explain service needs and options, and participate in on-call rotations while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of residential HVAC repair and installation experience.
• High school diploma or GED; HVAC technical school training preferred.
• EPA 608 Type II certification.
• Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems and diagnostic procedures.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, combustion, and airflow issues.
• Proficiency with HVAC service tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including electrical, refrigerant, combustion, and airflow issues.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including inspections, cleanings, filter changes, and system tune-ups.
• Use diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, refrigerant manifolds, combustion analyzers, leak detectors, and airflow measurement tools.
• Perform system testing and verify proper operation after completing service or repairs.
• Document service findings, work performed, parts used, and recommendations in the company's service software.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, explain system issues, and present repair or replacement options.
• Educate customers on proper system operation, maintenance, energy efficiency, and available upgrades.
• Recommend relevant solutions, including high-efficiency equipment, indoor air quality products, and smart thermostats.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, service vehicles, and equipment inventory.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergency service requests.
• Follow company safety procedures, applicable HVAC codes, OSHA requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
• Continue developing technical knowledge through training and ongoing education.
