Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes, yield and cycle time. The role requires organizing Kaizen events, leading cross-functional teams, and training staff in lean concepts and quality systems.

Ideal candidates hold a BS/MS in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience in storage components or server hardware, and practical PLC knowledge.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering with storage components, servers or hard drives preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with operators, supervisors and technicians.
• Knowledge of statistical quality control and design of experiments.
• Lean manufacturing experience; thick film processing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Analyze production and transactional processes to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Develop and apply best practices to related processes/products.
• Collect data and use statistical methods to communicate results to diverse audiences.
• Train and mentor staff in lean concepts and quality systems.
