Job summary

Milwaukee Electronics is seeking a detail-oriented DFM & Quote Technician to support manufacturing planning and quoting for PCBAs. You will review customer designs, identify manufacturability issues, and coordinate tooling for production, working with Engineering and Customer Support to improve quotes and reduce defects.

This on-site role emphasizes robust communication, accurate data handling, and collaboration across teams to implement cost-effective solutions and lean improvements.

Qualifications

• AS degree or two years of experience with PCBA troubleshooting/repair or SMT equipment programming. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read technical drawings, interpret technical instructions and diagrams, and work with customer-provided data is essential.
• Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate clearly and follow technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct DFM reviews of customer drawings and data files to assess compatibility with manufacturing capabilities and cost impact.
• Order stencils, SMT carriers, and other tooling; maintain tooling log.
• Develop recommendations for PCB panelization and tooling to support efficient production and reduce defects.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to Customer Support.
• Coordinate with Engineering to address manufacturing and tooling concerns for upcoming jobs.
• Review historical job records and provide defect reports to support improvements on repeat builds.
• Support NPI activities, including loading BOMs, ordering tooling, and 3D printing tooling.
• Develop training materials and provide instructions to colleagues locally and globally.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings as SME on DFM and defect reduction, focusing on tooling.
• Follow quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Promote Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement to reduce costs.
