Job summary

Celestica, located in Richardson, TX, seeks a DFA and Mechanical Engineer to drive design for assembly and serviceability within the mechanical design process. You will model assembly sequences, check access, tool clearance, and FRU serviceability, supporting trial builds and site integration.

Ideal candidates have 4–8 years in mechanical/assembly engineering in high-complexity electronics, with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and CAD fluency (Creo/SolidWorks) to optimize DFA and DFx

Qualifications

Experience applying DFA/DFM to complex electromechanical systems.
Strong CAD capabilities for modeling assembly sequences and tolerances.
Ability to evaluate serviceability and FRU access early in design.

Responsibilities

Run pre-DFA screens, model assembly sequences, and evaluate interference before design release.
Model complex assembly flows for access, clearance, and handling feasibility.
Log DFA findings and drive cross-functional disposition with design teams.
Support trial builds and rack integration, addressing thermal and assembly challenges.
Propose DFA rule changes and design guidelines from build feedback.
Own DFA-related deliverables and track closure prior to DVT.
