Job summary

Steampunk seeks a Test Engineer to join our DevSecOps practice, delivering QA services for application, cloud and data systems. 3–5 years of QA and test automation within Agile/DevSecOps is required. The role emphasizes automated testing, CI/CD integration, and security-focused validation across multiple environments.

The team collaborates with product, design, and development to define tests, build robust automation, and improve release processes while maintaining high security standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience with QA and test automation in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.
• Familiar with Agile development practices and DevSecOps.
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation tooling.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Understand stakeholders' needs and communicate them to developers.
• Meet with product/design teams to determine testing parameters.
• Write test plans, test cases, and QA reports.
• Develop automated testing scripts with parallelization and idempotency.
• Automate and improve build, test, deployment, and release processes.
• Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure processes are followed.
• Document current environment and produce actionable recommendations.
• Provide regular status updates and mentorship to junior team members.
