Job summary

Cloudera seeks a senior platform engineer to design and operate multi-cloud Kubernetes environments using Terraform and GitOps patterns. You will implement Istio/Envoy service mesh configurations, policy gates with OPA, and standardized telemetry via OpenTelemetry across complex clusters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience configuring Istio/Envoy service meshes, mTLS, edge gateways.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain modular Terraform primitives and GitOps patterns for multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters (EKS/AKS).
• Operate Istio/Envoy service mesh topologies across multi-gateway perimeters (Public Ingress, B2B Ingress, Egress).
• Author and maintain Open Policy Agent (OPA / Rego) policies to enforce pre-flight deployment checks and access escalation gates.
• Configure OpenTelemetry collectors and Envoy proxies to emit uniform telemetry logs across all hops.
• Manage ArgoCD-based pull-based CD pipelines and enforce repository standards across teams.
