Job summary

Prophasys is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to drive software integration, framework development, and automated infrastructure for high availability HPC systems on Linux. You will refine deployment pipelines and optimize performance in collaboration with stakeholders.

The role emphasizes scripting, cloud/container tooling, and monitoring with a strong focus on CI/CD practices and IaC using Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
• Experience with Linux-based environments and scripting (Shell/Python).
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience deploying and maintaining scalable infrastructure for HPC systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate software frameworks and automate infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability of HPC systems.
• Streamline deployment pipelines and optimize system performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement containerized services and IaC solutions.

Job description

Full Time, 40 hours per week

Description: The DevOps Software Engineer shall be responsible for software integration efforts, development of framework solutions, and maintaining automated infrastructure solutions to ensure high availability and scalability of HPC systems in a Linux environment. In this role, the DevOps Software Engineer shall work closely with various stakeholders to streamline the deployment pipeline and optimize system performance. Experience with the Atlassian Toll Suite (JIRA, Confluence) is preferred.

• Experience with Linux CLI




• Experience writing scripts using Shell/Bash/Python




• Linux administration experience including software integration, service management, configuration management, and routine sustainment operations related to provisioning, storage, and networking.




• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages in a Linux environment




• Extensive software development experience with Java and Python




• Experience with stream/batch Big Data processing and analytic frameworks




• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI




• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible




• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker




• Experience deploying containerized services under Kubernetes orchestration




• Demonstrated experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana




• Experience with Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

Education/Experience Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Positions that may be available range from mid- level (7-14 years) to subject matter expert level (20+ years).

Compensation & Benefits - We offer a highly competitive salary along with a full benefits package, including paid time off, health/dental/vision coverage, retirement savings plans, employer paid life and disability, training and tuition reimbursement and more. This position is eligible for our year end discretionary bonus plan, as well as recognition awards. The competitive salary range* is $150,000 to $230,000 (annualized USD).
