Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer with active TS/SCI w/Polygraph clearance for a full-time role in Maryland.

The position focuses on designing, developing and maintaining a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance and scalability. Candidates should have 7 years of software engineering experience, a bachelor’s degree (or 2 extra years of experience in lieu), strong Linux, Bash, Rust and Python

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience as a software engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• 2 additional years of experience as a software engineer may be substituted for a degree
• Experience with Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Rust and Python
• Experience using Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools
• Experience interfacing with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog
• Experience with Message Brokers including Kafka
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools including Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Job Description

The DevOps Software Engineer shall be part of a team responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a comprehensive distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure.

Required Experience

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Rust and Python
• Experience using Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools
• Experience interfacing with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog
• Experience with Message Brokers including Kafka

Salary: $230,000 - $240,000 annually
