Job summary

Apple is seeking an IS&T Retail Store Apps Engineer in Sunnyvale to help build and operate the systems connecting Apple Retail stores with customers. You will work with a team of engineers to architect, implement, and deploy distributed compute platforms and services, while upholding reliability and performance across services.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration across functions, and the ability to learn and innovate in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in software development using Python, Rust, and/or Java programming languages.
• Experience working with cloud compute environments like OpenStack, AliCloud, AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, CI/CD, and automation.
• Experience with troubleshooting, problem solving, and debugging.
• Comfortable with on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate repetitive manual processes using automation.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
• Deploy application releases and code from Development into Production.
• shepherding applications through the software delivery life cycle.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of trends and standard methodologies within Apple.
• Set up and analyze application health metrics and provide solutions to ensure stability.
• Troubleshoot problems and work with a team to resolve large-scale production issues.
