Job summary

Summit Racing Equipment is seeking an experienced IT Engineer to join our team in a remote capacity. The role emphasizes CI/CD, SRE, and systems engineering across platform applications, deployment, and infrastructure.

You will bridge development and operations, automate deployments, and maintain SDLC documentation. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in enterprise IT, strong Git, monitoring tools, Linux/Windows server admin, and experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Chef, Puppet),

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree + 5+ years IT engineering experience in an enterprise setting.
  • Proven CI/CD, SRE, or Systems Engineering experience.
  • Strong Git or equivalent version control experience.
  • Experience with systems or service monitoring tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Linux/Windows server administration.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Support software across development teams and deployments.
  • Bridge between development and infrastructure teams to align project requirements.
  • Document systems and processes that support the SDLC.
  • Accept feedback and continuously improve processes.
  • Organize and execute deployments and release structures.
  • Utilize Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket to track deployment issues.
  • Develop PoCs for new technologies and processes.
  • Support and enhance the SDLC workflow.
  • Act as a knowledge source for problem escalation.

Job description

Summary

This position is able to be a remote work from home position. Must live in Florida, Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee or Texas to be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • They will play a large role in supporting the software developed by all development teams in the company; from the platform applications are developed on, to the compilation of the application, to the deployment of the application.
  • They will also act as a bridge between the software development teams and the infrastructure teams to ensure clear and common understanding of project requirements.
  • They will also need to create and maintain documentation of the systems and processes that support our SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • This person should be able to accept criticism, look to improve themselves, and not be afraid to express their thoughts.
  • Continuous learning and attention to detail are required to succeed in this position.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Support and facilitate cross team communication
  • Ownership of: Systems and Service Monitoring Software Deployments
  • Organize and execute deployments
  • Effectively utilize tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket to collect issues relating to deployment
  • Create release structures
  • Deploy code
  • Research and create proof-of-concepts for new technologies and processes
  • Support and enhance the SDLC
  • Act as a knowledge source regarding who should be contacted when problems arise
  • Document new and existing processes, technologies, and tools for future supportability
Preferred technical skills
  • Proven experience in CI/CD, SRE, or Systems Engineering roles
  • Strong experience with Git or equivalent version control systems
  • Strong experience with systems or service monitoring tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of: TCP/IP Networking
  • Linux server administration
  • Windows server administration
  • Various operating systems
  • VM administration
  • Web technologies (client/server/api/load balancers/certificates)
  • Experience with integration frameworks like Selenium, Appium .NET Framework/Core exposure preferred
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline and tools like Octopus, Jenkins, TeamCity
  • Automation and orchestration experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet a plus
  • Container experience with Docker, Kubernetes a plus
  • Development experience on team Python, node.js experience a plus
  • An understanding of QA testing and concepts
Education and/or Experience
  • A Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution; and at least 5 years of IT engineering experience in an enterprise setting.
