Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework (48 credits) / AS Degree or passing score (464) on the Para Pro Assessment.
• Ability to work effectively with students with special needs.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Preference for training in crisis intervention/restraint and related topics.
• Reports to Building Principal; terms per bargaining unit.

Responsibilities

• Works with elementary students with developmental disabilities and supports in instructional and non-instructional settings.
• Reinforce learning of materials or skills introduced by the classroom teacher.
• Reinforce learning of social/emotional strategies introduced by the classroom teacher and school staff.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
• Perform related duties as directed by the building principal.
