Job summary

Birch Family Services seeks an Experienced Direct Care Professional to counsel, assist and train individuals with developmental disabilities in personal care, travel, social, home and life skills to maximize functioning in the community.

Position is full-time with an evening shift at 92nd Street - Ozone Park, NY 11416. Must obtain AMAP certification during probation, complete First Aid/CPR, and hold a NYS driver’s license; experience in residential settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience with developmentally disabled population preferred.
• Must complete AMAP certification during probation and maintain AMAP.
• Ability and willingness to be First Aid and CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Counsel, assist and train individuals in personal care, travel, social, home and life skills.
• Support individuals in developing skills to maximize functioning in the community.
• Document records in accordance with program standards.
• Ensure safety and provide supportive oversight during activities.
