Job description

As a Developmental Disabilities Program Representative with the Department of Human Services, you will help shape policies and support programs that improve lives. You work with partners to coordinate activities, gather information, and promote strong outcomes. Be part of a team committed to creating pathways for individuals with developmental disabilities!

This position supports statewide planning, coordination, and evaluation of programs that serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. As a Developmental Disabilities Program Representative, you will perform the following duties:

  • Policy Research: Review laws and regulations to understand their impact on individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Grant Coordination: Prepare work statements, review grantee reports, and provide technical assistance to funded projects
  • Program Monitoring: Evaluate statewide projects and recommend actions that support the Developmental Disabilities Council goals and objectives
  • Community Outreach: Assist individuals and families in connecting with community services and specialized supports
  • Collaboration Work: Take part in statewide groups and coalitions that plan or influence disability-related policies
  • Training Support: Participate in trainings and help develop materials that support the council programs and initiatives

Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work Hours: Flexible work hours with a set schedule between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30- or 60-minute lunch. Occasional evening and weekend work hours may be required.
  • Some travel will be necessary.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating a human services program that includes one year of experience in the development or implementation of programs serving the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional experience in the development or implementation of programs serving the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
