Job summary

The City of San Antonio seeks a seasoned supervisor to oversee the commercial and residential development intake and plan review at the One Stop Center. You will resolve customer issues, coordinate with boards and commissions, and supervise assigned staff in a primarily office setting.

Responsibilities include directing plan intake, counter reviews, and transportation of plans to storage facilities. You will engage with monthly meetings, training, and audit processes to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of experience processing or supervising development related projects.
  • Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
  • Must obtain ICC Permit Technician certification within one year of employment.
  • Preferred: Certified ICC Permit Technician.
  • Experience with Accela software (preferred).

Job Summary

Under general direction, is responsible for the operational supervision of commercial and residential development in-take and plan review. Resolves customer issues with commercial and residential projects. This position will directly coordinate with various boards and commissions within the City of San Antonio. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises supervision over assigned staff.

Work Hours

7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday

Essential Job Functions
  • Supervises the overall operation of commercial, residential and licensing activity at the One Stop Counter, including plan in-take, counter plan review, trade permits and other activities.

Job Requirements

  • Must obtain International Code Council (ICC) Certification as a Permit Technician within one (1) year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified ICC Permit Technician.
  • Experience with Accela software.
Applicant Information
  • Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

  • General knowledge of City Code, Local Government Code, and one or more construction codes.
  • Advanced knowledge of the current adopted Unified Development Code (UDC).
  • Skill in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Skill in resolving customer problems in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
