Job summary

Pima County Development Services Department, Site Review Engineering Division, seeks an Engineer I to support the review of private development improvement projects county-wide. This in-office role in Tucson, AZ, offers opportunities to influence land development standards, drainage, roadway, and utilities projects.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, planners, inspectors and other professionals, performing technical reviews, plan checks and coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering or closely-related field.
• Current PE license or ability to obtain registration in Arizona during probation period; documentation required.
• Substitution of education/experience as allowed by the department head.

Responsibilities

• Participates in designs, studies and cost estimates and prepares reports for future and proposed projects.
• Analyses engineering systems to optimize operations and checks conformance with standards.
• Coordinates design with other departments and public agencies and reviews final plans.
• Manages construction of public works projects and provides direction for execution.
• Performs design review of plans and technical reports for private development for conformance to County standards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain in AZ during probation
