Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking a Traffic Engineer II to join the Plan Review section. You will review development site plans for street infrastructure, subdivision layouts, access management and parking design, and support pre-application meetings with technical comments.

You’ll also handle counter coverage and plan reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards. The ideal candidate brings knowledge of transportation engineering, strong writing and presentation skills, and the ability to

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing entry level traffic engineering work.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with courses in traffic or highway engineering.
• Background check is required for all finalists.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record; City vehicle use may apply.

Responsibilities

• Review development site plans for street infrastructure requirements and parking design.
• Participate in pre-application and preliminary site approval meetings; present stipulations and comments.
• Provide coverage at the Traffic Site Development Counter.
• Review paving plans, design reports, lot divisions, abandonments and plats for compliance with Traffic Engineering standards.
