Job summary

Draper City is seeking a Development Coordinator to manage intake and routing of development-related applications for the Planning division. You will assist with zoning reviews, permits, and short-term rentals, offering guidance to the public and developers.

The role supports staff in reviews, prepares staff reports, and may present applications to the Planning Commission and City Council as needed. Local government experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Two years of customer service experience required or preferred.
  • Experience in development, permitting, or related environment preferred.
  • Valid Utah driver license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and route development applications and materials.
  • Create and maintain electronic files for each application.
  • Process permits and zoning research requests.
  • Assist in building permit reviews for zoning compliance.
  • Staff front counter and answer inquiries, directing complex questions.
  • Interpret ordinances and policies in reviews and inquiries.
  • Coordinate with applicants during processing of applications.
  • Prepare and present staff work to Planning Commission or City Council.
