Job summary

The Baker Center for Children and Families is seeking a Development Officer in Waltham, MA. This on-site role offers a hybrid schedule and focuses on growing our individual giving program, donor research, and engagement across the giving pipeline.

You will work with leadership to shape fundraising strategy, support annual campaigns like fall and spring appeals, and help meet revenue goals through relationship-building and event participation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in nonprofit development or fundraising.
• Direct hands-on donor solicitation experience.
• Experience with setting fundraising targets and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a donor portfolio with cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention.
• Strengthen donor acquisition, retention, and long-term engagement.
• Develop donor strategies using moves management and philanthropic history.
• Conduct personalized outreach to build authentic donor relationships.
• Collaborate with leadership on cultivation and collateral development.
• Support fundraising events and develop annual work plans.
